RO4350B PCB Quality and Acceptance Planning
Make acceptance criteria explicit before fabrication. A reference to an IPC class does not, by itself, specify every electrical, dimensional and application requirement.
Identify the applicable documents
Review the scope of IPC-6012, IPC-6018 and IPC-A-600 with the fabricator and the responsible design authority. State the selected document, revision, class and any agreed exceptions on the drawing. Verify current revisions from IPC when releasing the package.
Define project-specific electrical evidence
Specify target impedance, tolerance, test structures and reporting requirements. If insertion loss or phase matters to acceptance, define the frequency range, fixture and calibration method. Impedance and insertion loss are different characteristics and need different evidence.
Keep the evidence traceable
Connect material lots, drawing revisions, approved stackups, inspection records and test reports. Define how deviations and replacements will be approved, and preserve records for the agreed retention period.
What this website does not establish
This guide is not a certification claim or a substitute for the applicable standard. Required certifications and demonstrated manufacturing capabilities must be verified for the supplier selected for your project.
